1996 - 2000
Born on March 7th, 1996, to Kosovan parents in The Netherlands and proudly named after Albania, Alban entered this world into the loving, warm embrace of a refugee couple escaping the catastrophic war in Kosovo.
In 1998, Alban, along with his sister Beatrix and their parents, made a significant move to Dortmund, Germany, seeking a more community-oriented life in proximity to other family members and fellow Kosovars/Albanians.
2000 - 2008
After the war, the decision to move back to Kosovo appeared to be the most sensible choice. Alban spent his early years in the small village of 'Llapashticë e poshtme' in 'Podujevë' until the age of eight. However, when his parents divorced, Alban, along with his sister Beatrix Ramosaj and mother Antigone Ramosaj, relocated to the capital city of Kosovo, Prishtinë.
2008 - 2019
While Antigone Ramosaj discovered her children's talent and passion for the arts, particularly music, she made the decision to move once again, this time to the capital city of Albania, Tirana. Her goal was to provide better schooling and potentially a better life for her family.
In Tirana, Alban immersed himself in the study of classical music, laying the foundation for what would become a highly successful career. He not only pursued singing but also delved into composing, writing, directing, and editing films, earning multiple awards in each field, where each and every time he would win an award, he'd dedicate them to his Mother as a thank you gesture for her love and care throughout the tough journey they've been through.
Alban emerged as an idiosyncratic artist, a pioneer across multiple artistic domains.
In his 20s, Alban achieved what many can only dream of in the entertainment industry. Having "capped" his success, he pivoted towards his secondary passion—traveling. This shift allowed him to cultivate a deeper understanding of diverse cultures worldwide, inspiring him to write even more profoundly about the human experience into his story telling through music and film.
2019 - 2023
While traveling the world, with a particular focus on Europe, Alban discovered solace and profound inspiration in the cities of Spain. It was in these vibrant surroundings that he decided to make it his temporary residence, only for the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to become another compelling reason to extend his stay.
Over a span of nearly two years in Spain, Alban penned his inaugural song. This composition, titled "Thikat E Mia," would go on to achieve his first international musical breakthrough in Europe. The pinnacle of its recognition came when it earned Alban his first prize trophy at the prestigious international music festival, "Kënga Magjike," held in Albania and featuring participants from across the globe and through YouTube Music charting #1 in the continent.
The monumental success of "Thikat E Mia" served as a poignant reminder of Alban's humble beginnings in the music industry. Fueled by this triumph, he redirected his focus and invested his time wholeheartedly into the art of composition. The result was yet another groundbreaking creation, "Theje."
Choosing to enter "Theje" into the Eurovision national pre-selection festival, Alban may have secured the second prize, but the impact of the song reverberated across the continent. Breaking records like 'The most streamed song in the history of the festival,' "Theje" propelled Alban's success beyond the confines of Albanian-speaking regions, broadening his audience and marking another significant chapter in his musical journey.
2023 - Present...
Embracing the belief that every journey has a beginning and recognising the significance of concluding a chapter to forge ahead, Alban made a resolute announcement on August 20th, 2023. He declared his decision to cease creating music in Albania, signaling a determined initiation of a new chapter.
And what does this new chapter entail? Another relocation of course!
This time, again, alongside his mother and sister, in New York, USA.
As the adage goes, new location, new inspiration.... new music! (and not only)
